Romance on ice

I enjoyed watching the biographical segment on married figure skaters, Shen Xue and Zhao Hongo. Their story is adorable and fitting for Valentines Day.

I cheered madly from the couch as they performed their near perfect routine and felt as if two of my best friends won Olympic gold. TV does that to people.

Anyways, their success makes me happy and I've fully embraced the shmarminess of it all.

Now, on to other things.

E-cards are easy to deliver and often times pretty funny. However, they are not appropriate for Valentines Day. No, they are not. Not even if your significant other lives across the nation.

In my opinion, e-cards should be sent as contribution to an over all romantic day (which should include tangible presentation of affection) and not in place of.

I only bring this up because a dear friend of mine, Poor Joe is what we'll call him, sent his girlfriend of five months an e-card and nothing else. It wasn't even a funny or clever one either. It was pathetic.

Don't be pathetic, friends!
